Teaching Philosophy
Teaching is one of the greatest honors I could ever experience because to be able to teach, students need to put their trust and respect in me. Therefore, I promised myself to always show respect to all my students. I strongly believe that teacher’s attitude plays a significant role in increasing and maintaining student’s motivation and passion for learning music.
In teaching beginners and young students, I believe that learning to play the piano is a life-long process. Just like building a house, stronger foundation is needed to build taller buildings. To play the piano, a good basic knowledge of music and training is required. Learning piano, unlike other instruments, teach children rhythm, pitch, harmony, and coordination at the same time. Furthermore, according to researches, most children with music training do better in school than their peers. In my own experience, learning to play music helps to improve other life skills such as problem solving, analyzing, computing, organizing, and memorizing. I believe that musical training is necessary for children to improve their ability in other life skills. That being said, I also believe that music is beautiful and fun! Playing piano is also an activity to express our emotion and connect with people. My goal is to help students to achieve their best potential and I am fully aware that every student has different needs. All of my private lessons will be adjusted to what every student need.
